18 House Members Advocate to Maintain Energy Tax Credits in 2025

They wrote a letter to Speaker Johnson outlining their views of the Inflation Reduction Act.

Representative Andrew Garbarino of New York wrote a letter signed by 17 other members of the House majority to Speaker Mike Johnson this week, requesting that he keep clean energy tax credits in U.S. law next year.

The Inflation Reduction Act included many clean energy tax credits in 2022. While the members support the revocation of the increased funding for the Internal Revenue Service under the act, they claim that a number of businesses have used the credits with the expectation that they will remain in place in the future.

“Energy tax credits have spurred innovation, incentivized investment, and created good jobs in many parts of the country – including many districts represented by members of our conference,” the legislators wrote in their letter. “We must reverse the policies which harm American families while protecting and refining those that are making our country more energy independent and Americans more energy secure. … We support an all-of-the-above approach to energy development and tax credits that incentivize domestic production, innovation, and delivery from all sources.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For members of the House as they assess the portions of the Inflation Reduction Act to retain or to revoke.
  • For Speaker Mike Johnson to seek God’s guidance as he oversees business in the lower chamber of Congress.
